In a book I recently read, I fell in love with a quote and it’s become my definition of servant leadership. It goes as follows, “Imagine if for every person you met, you thought of some way to help them, something you could do for them? And looked at it in a way that entirely benefited them… and not you?” by Ryan Holiday, Tools of Titans.
I believe this strikes at the heart of each of us. The draw and appeal to actively seek out an opportunity to help. Help those we don’t know. Those we may never see. The impact of the YMCA on our community cannot be overstated. This past year, we supported six non-profit agencies that serve women and children, scholarship assistance for 372 families in Peachtree Corners and the surrounding area, provided camp access for 236 kids, and carved out $1,000 to send our teen leaders to a surprise trip to Blue Ridge for leadership development. That is a positive impact to over 600 people!
Impacting lives of people our branch encounters every day is not possible without the proceeds from our Why It Matters Campaign. This is the important work that we as donors support, and that we are charged to ensure continues for the long-term.
Thank you for your support and effort to make the Fowler YMCA a place where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
Thank you, Eric & Jordan
