Hello! My name is Paige Sheppard. I am 15 years old and a sophomore at Alpharetta High School. I am so excited that I have been selected for the 2019 YMCA of Metro Atlanta Global Service Leadership Program. This summer I have the opportunity to travel to the Republic of Gerogia along with other teen leaders. We will be providing summer camp to the local underprivileged children while also building myself and my skills as a leader.
Y Leaders Program
I have been a part of the YMCA community for my entire life and I have become more involved as I have gotten older. I joined the Ed Isakson branch’s YMCA Teen Leadership club almost 4 years ago and ever since, I have grown as a leader. I have attended the Blue Ridge Leadership school for 2 years and I have also participated in the 2018 Global Leadership Program trip to Johannesburg, South Africa. Lastly, I have the leadership position of secretary for our club, which entails scheduling meetings/activities and taking notes during our meetings to update members of the club who were not present. Through the leaders club I have done a lot of volunteering including the Manning Oaks ES after-school program and many other community outreach programs.
What I Need from You
As a part of this trip, it is my responsibility to raise $3,000 for the cause. To support my work in the Republic of Georgia, I would really appreciate you making a tax-deductible donation to the YMCA through my personal fundraising page. Your gift will make it possible for me to grow as a leader and serve others in the Republic of Georgia by funding.
Any size donation is truly appreciated! Thank you in advance for your support and please let me know if you have any questions about my trip.

Each day, the Y works to ensure our community has the support it needs to be its best. I’m proud to be a Y Champion to help give all kids, teens, and families access and opportunity to be a part of the Y – regardless of ability to pay. I am asking you to join me in my efforts to give all people in our community a chance to reach their full potential at the Y.
For 160 years, the Y has worked to ensure local kids and teens have the help they need to prepare for kindergarten, stay on-track in school, grow as leaders, and learn how to contribute to a stronger community. Through wellness and hunger relief programs, the Y helps people of all ages stay active and healthy. But, the Y needs your support of the WHY IT MATTERS Annual Giving Campaign to make this possible.
100% of every dollar donated has a lasting impact on the people of metro Atlanta by ensuring the Y’s doors are open to all – regardless of financial ability.
Please join me and support the Y by making a donation today. Your gift will truly make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need the Y most.
