Hello, My Name is Seth McGaughey. I am currently raising money in order to travel to the Republic of Georgia to teach kids about water safety and serve at a YMCA summer camp.
All my life I have been involved in the Decatur Family YMCA. I started when I was 3 years old taking swim lessons and later took Karate classes with Sensei Stan. I also spent several of my summers going to both the day camp at Decatur YMCA and overnight camp at High Harbor. I gained so much from the staff there and I will never forget those summers. As I got older I decided that I could also give something back by working and volunteering. The last two years I have participated in the Advanced Leadership Program. As part of this program, I have volunteered in the community and have worked with younger kids at the summer camp. Through these experiences, I have made new friends and gained leadership experience. I have also been blessed to help younger kids enjoy their Y experience just as much as inhave enjoyed it.
I have been given the opportunity to expand beyond my community and out of my comfort zone. I have been selected to participate in the Global Leadership Program. Through this program, I will visit the Republic of Georgia to assist with their summer camp and help teach water safety. My experience with the Y summer camps and as a certified life guard and an avid swimmer make me well suited to help. I am very passionate about teaching children to enjoy their time in the water in a fun and safe way.
To make this experience possible, I have set a goal to raise $3000. This money will help us assist those is the Republic of Georgia improve their programs. Please consider donating to this fund. Every penny counts! All donations are welcomed and can go a long way!!!!
Thanks you so much
