YMCA Camp High Harbour has been an important part of my life since I was 11 years old. I still remember how it felt to be nervous to stay a week away from home but how my counselors instantly made me feel welcome by serving me, caring for me, and loving me. These counselors inspired me to give back and do for someone else what they did for me. In Fall 2004, I interviewed for a position in the Advanced Leadership Academy, which only marked the beginning of an incredible journey of personal growth.
My experiences serving in the Advanced Leadership Academy and as a staff member at Camp High Harbour throughout my teenage years helped mold me into who I am today. I developed confidence, learned important lessons, and built lasting friendships.
Today I am blessed to continuing serving at Camp High Harbour in the capacity of Site Director of the Lake Burton facility. As camp continues to grow and impact more young people, we need help. With the generosity of many, we are seeking to serve 621 children in 2016 through our annual campaign who otherwise do not have the financial resources to attend YMCA Camp High Harbour. As a charitable non-profit, the Y relies on donations from people believe in our mission.
Will you please consider joining me and the hundreds of others whose financial support helps to make the dream of camp for kids a reality? Your gift at any level makes a huge impact on the lives of all who enter the camp gates. If we help send just one more child to camp, we have made a difference for that child!
