The YMCA of Metro Atlanta makes a significant difference in the lives of 250,000 individuals in our communities, every day. That’s why we are proud to come together as a team to support the YMCA.
So much more than a gym and a great place to swim, the Y develops vital programs and services for ALL people in Metro Atlanta to reach their full potential. As a charitable nonprofit, the Y relies on donations from people like you and me.
Life has been very different the past several weeks for most all of us. Hopefully in the coming weeks there will be more certainty for everyone as we gather more information on COVID-19 and get back to some sort of normalcy in the weeks ahead.
Early on in this pandemic the YMCA facilities closed and pivoted to the needs of our communities. As mentioned, the Y has programs that are now assisting with the ever growing hunger relief efforts, programs to assist healthcare workers and First Responders by providing childcare during their shifts, and with our REACH program we are engaging our Senior members and making sure they are safe. The YMCA still has a need for our Talent, Time and Treasures. While the focus may have shifted for the COVID-19 pandemic be rest assured that we will still be defining our mission for Cherokee County and our Y will open again. Here is the latest message from Lauren Koontz,
President & CEO of YMCA of Metro Atlanta about reopening: https://vimeo.com/410396608
As the campaign moves forward we can focus on the Fun and how we can bring our community services in areas of need to our community.
