Hello, I’m Gabrielle Williams and I’m a Membership Supervisor with the G. Cecil Pruett Community Family YMCA and the Cherokee Outdoor YMCA. I have been with the YMCAs of Metro Atlanta for ten years in several different capacities. I continue to support the cause of the Y because of the transformative work that is being done directly within the immediate community. The YMCA has always been a place for me to belong and to have fun. As someone who was constantly moving in her youth, the Y was the one constant in my life. The Y is where I learned to swim, spend my time after school with friends, and positive role models. The Y was also my first job, where I was able to be a direct and positive influence to the youth in day camps, after school and in family programs. I love that I can be a part of a cause that consistently supports good in the community and provides opportunities for individuals to reach their potential no matter which stage of life they’re in.
Each day, the Cherokee County YMCA's work to ensure our community has the support it needs to be the BEST. I’m proud to be a Y Champion and to help give ALL kids, teens, and families’ access and opportunity to be a part of the Y – regardless of ability to pay. We love Cherokee County and want to continue to do our part to strengthening our communities through our programs! I am asking you to join me in my efforts to give ALL people in our community a chance to r each their full potential at the Y.
The Y has worked to ensure local kids and teens have the help they need to prepare for kindergarten, stay on-track in school, grow as leaders, and learn how to contribute to a stronger community. The Cherokee County YMCA's have made sure 3,600 kids had a safe, active, and fun summer Day Camp. Over 200 children in foster care received free access to our Y programs and membership. Over 250 kids learned life-saving water safety skills in swim lessons. We served over 1,000 seniors and had programs and activities that help them gain a sense of community and kept them active through Y programs. Over 3,000 kids received healthy lunches during the summer and winter breaks at the Y. But, the Y needs your support of the WHY IT MATTERS Annual Giving Campaign to make this possible.
100% of every dollar donated has a lasting impact on the people of Cherokee County by ensuring the Y’s doors are open to ALL – regardless of financial ability.
Please join me and support the Y by making a donation today. Your gift will truly make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need the Y most in Cherokee County.
