YMCA Camp High Harbour is a very speciel place to me! Without camp I would have missed out on many oppertunities to do great things. At camp I was able to do many things that I would have not done, if I had never come. Camp will always be a place where I first felt comfortable for who I am and where I became close to my savior. The staff members while I was a camper, and the staff now have and continue to teach me amazing leadership and character building skills.
If it weren't for camp I would be a signifigantly different person now. Many life skills that I have used like appyling for colleges, interviewing for jobs, and basic buisness proffesional skills, I learned at Camp. I could never imagine a more fun way to spend my summers than as being a camper at High Harbor Lake Burton, but now serving on staff for the past four years I have realized that camp's impact goes way past being a camper. The YMCA of Metro Atlanta makes a significant difference in the lives of 250,000 individuals in our communities, just like mine. That’s why I’m proud to be a Y Champion for the YMCA.
So much more than a gym and a great place to swim, the Y develops vital programs and services for ALL people in Metro Atlanta to reach their full potential. Today, 1 in 4 children, teens, and families needs financial assistance to be a part of the Y. As a charitable nonprofit, the Y relies on donations from people like you and me.
