To state this in the simplest way, Camp High Harbour changed my whole life. I started camp as a shy 6 year old in day camp who cried when she got off the bus. Now, here I am 14 years later and I am going to be on staff for my fifth year in a row at camp. Growing up at camp has taught me so much and given me friends that I have had for years and will have for the rest of my life. Just last year, as a freshman in college, my best camp friend and I were roommates and I couldn't have thought of a better situation. There is no doubt in my mind that camp has shaped me into the person that I am today, and it will always be a home away from home to me. As cliche as it sounds, camp taught be it's okay to be weird and to be yourself. I take pride in being known as "the camp girl" and will for the rest of my life.
Having made such great memories at camp, I want to help other kids to have the same experience. Many kids needs financial assistance to make their dream of attending camp come true. It's not fair that some children can't have the opportunity to experience camp, simply because they can't pay for it. YMCA Camp High Harbour is seeking to serve over 721 children through our annual campaign who otherwise do no thave the financial resources to attend summer camp. Your gift, no matter what it is, will help another camper create the same amazing memories that I have made over the years and continue to make
Please join me and support YMCA Camp High Harbour to offer a child in need the same incredible experience that I and so many others have had at camp.
