As a child I grew up in the YMCA and the Centennial community. I started in pre-school, even then I looked forward to coming to the Y. As I got older, I got more invested in YMCA activities and programs such as summer camp, basketball, football, and some of the teen programs, like Leaders in Training. Now, I am old enough to run some of these programs. The YMCA has always been good to me and full of great surprises. It truly is a family. With the YMCA being a second home and teaching me about myself and being a servant leader. I've even had the opportunity to travel abroad to Costa Rica last year, to represent the Y and become a global leader!
This year, I have the opportunity to expand my experience and my global impact by traveling to South Africa. Going on this trip would be a wonderful opportunity for me. My trip to Costa Rica, was the first of its kind for me. Having the opportunity to raise money, to support a trip that in the end will benefit others was a challenging, yet humbling experience. I worked hard until the very end, and recieved the ultimate reward of helping others and making a huge impact on the kids we worked with in Costa Rica. By traveling to South Africa this year, I hope to gain even more, and to do more service. This will be a great chance to continue my exploration of the world. I always imagined traveling abroad, now i have the chance to travel AND make a difference.
I humbly ask for support by making a donation today. Your gift will truly make a difference.
