My family and I have been members of the Northwest YMCA for 15 years and I joined the Y staff in December 2016.
I never realized how much the YMCA helps people of all ages in our community until I became an employee and would like to share how our community is impacted by donations from members like you.
For over 160 years, the Y has worked to ensure that local kids and teens, active military, veterans, foster families, seniors and families have the help they need to prepare for kindergarten, stay on-track in school, come to camp each summer, take classes specific to their strengths and abilities. The Y helps people of all ages stay active and healthy.
The Y needs your support of the WHY IT MATTERS annual giving campaign to make all of this possible. When people ask me why I donate from each paycheck, I tell them. I give because giving means that campers are able to come back to camp each summer and during school breaks. It means that kids in need will receive lunches during break, when they may not get one otherwise. It means that children in underprivileged areas can receive swim and water safety lessons. it means that seniors with Parkinson's can come to our Y and take classes. it means that families can come to the Y, regardless of their financial circumstances, and live a healthy life.
I am proud to give each year and see how lives in our community are changed, and today I am asking you if you can give? Any donation, no matter how much or little will count, your donation will help us exceed our goals and change lives within our community. Your donations are highly appreciated. Please join me and support the Y by making a donation today. Your gift will truly make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need the Y most.
