My name is Indira Kissoonlal. I am a senior at Druid Hills High School and I have been given the opportunity of a lifetime this summer.
I have been involved with the YMCA for about 7 years now. It started off with just going to the facility after school and hanging out with my friends, but I soon realized the Y would offer me so much more. The YMCA is where I found my second home and another family. I was/am involved in almost ever club and program they offer ranging from: volunteer club, digital media, basketball, competition cheerleading, step team, chess club, Teen Leadership Advisory Board, Women’s Leadership Academy, and so much more.
Working with Kids has always been something I loved doing. Over the past few years, I have volunteered as a camp counselor and worked with kids of all ages. This summer the YMCA is giving me an amazing opportunity to go on a global service trip to the Republic of Georgia. We will be working with kids in summer camps, growing as leaders, learning from different people and cultures, but most importantly, doing service work that will change someone’s life.
My goal is $3000. Please join and support me on my journey by making a donation today. Your help and support will truly make a meaningful difference.
