Dear Friends and Colleagues -
Last year so many of you supported the YMCA. This year the YMCA is stepping up to quickly adapt and meet the changing needs of our community. Your support is more critical than ever.
The Y is so much more than a gym. Now in the face of the uncertainty caused by the coronavirus, the Y has quickly adapted programs to meet the most pressing needs of Atlanta’s children, seniors, and families. The needs the Y is serving today are compelling and urgent.
• The YMCA has activated a childcare program that serves children ages six weeks to 12 to support essential workers: hospital staff, first responders, and frontline workers (law enforcement, firefighters, grocery store workers, etc.) who must continue working.
• The Y has leveraged partnerships to provide meals for 6,000 families weekly through hunger relief efforts, including grab and go meals, backpacks and food pantry services.
• The YMCA has implemented Operation REACH to connect with and engage our more than 6,000 seniors and vulnerable groups during this difficult time, offering resources and support to keep them safe and healthy.
Now, more than ever, the Y relies on the generous support from the community to have an immediate impact on the lives of the children and first responders who need our support. Through these essential services, we can help serve those who need us most.
Helping all of North America: 100% of every dollar donated has a lasting impact. Your donation to this campaign through the YMCA of Metro Atlanta helps the entire YMCA system be better across the entire US and Canada.
Please join me and support the Y by donating today. Your gift will truly make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need the Y most in this time of global crisis.
