Judy and I have been members of the Northwest Family YMCA since 2010. We joined while looking for a fitness center and, at the time, didn't really understand that we had actually joined an extended family with far reaching hands of outreach into the surrounding community. Each day, the Y works to ensure our community has the support it needs to be at its best. I’m proud to be a Y Champion to help raise the money needed to provide all kids, teens, and families an opportunity to be a part of the Y, regardless of ability to pay.
Our personal involvement at the NW Y has included participation in a cross section of many program offerings including early morning exercise, conversation and fellowship around the morning "Roundtable", Pickleball, Yoga, and Aquatics. Our granddaughters, Ella and Molly, have also benefited though attending summer camps at both the Y and High Harbor, special holiday events, the day care center, the climbing wall, and dance classes (among other things).
I am also a member of a local mens Bible study and service group known as Men of Mar Hill. We have partnered with the NW Y the past four years to provide Thanksgiving meals to families who are not in a position to celebrate the holiday without some help. Last year, over 200 meals were distributed. This would not have been possible without the Y's assistance in collecting the food and providing a place to assemble and distribute the meals.
100% of every dollar donated to the WHY IT MATTERS ANNUAL CAMPAIGN has a lasting impact on the people in the NW Y community by ensuring the Y’s doors are open to all – regardless of financial ability.
Please join me and support the Y by making a donation today. Your gift will truly make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need the Y most.
