I started my Y journey back in March of 2019. I moved to the Atlanta area due to my husband's job. While job hunting, I knew that I needed a position and company that made an impact in the community that I lived in - it would have an added bonus if it somehow involved sports. I was lucky enough to find an amazing opportunity at Ed Isakson/Alpharetta Family YMCA and started in Afterschool and Summer Camp. However, if you know me, you know that I have a background in sports and community engagement and that I absolutely love all things sports! So when the Sports Director position opened with the McCleskey and Northeast Cobb Ys - I knew I had to apply. As you can see the rest is history and I was blessed to transition to this role in November 2019!
As I type this, we are getting ready to wrap up my first season with basketball, indoor soccer, and flag football. Spring soccer 2020 is right around the corner! We are extremely lucky to have such an amazing community, because our players wouldn't have the opportunity to play without your support. Did you know that in 2019 we were able to provide 3,158 young athletes scholarships to participate in teams sports at the McCleskey and Northeast Cobb YMCA? Those are 3,158 athletes who may have never had the opportunity to play if not for the WHY IT MATTERS Campaign!
We would like to have the ability to provide even more young players the opportunity to play this year!
Donations to the WHY IT Matters Campaign ensures no one is turned away from the Y due to inability to pay. YMCA is so much more than a gym, a place to play sports, and a place to swim – the YMCA develops and provides vital programs and services for ALL people in Marietta and Metro Atlanta.
I’m proud to be a Y Champion to help give all kids, teens, and families access and opportunity to be a part of the Y – regardless of ability to pay. I am asking you to join me in my efforts to give all people in our community a chance to reach their full potential at the Y.
100% of every dollar donated has a lasting impact on the people of metro Atlanta by ensuring the Y’s doors are open to all – regardless of financial ability.
Please join me and support the Y by making a donation today. Your gift will truly make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need the Y most.
