First - thanks so much for even considering to give. I cannot tell you how proud, impressed and insipred I have been with the YMCA and how they have handled COVID in our community.
Before joining the Y Ambassador Board I honestly did not realize the extent of care that the Y provided for Atlanta. I was blown away to hear how much they do every day for our city and state. They work tirelessly to ensure local kids and teens have the help they need to prepare for kindergarten, stay on-track in school, grow as leaders, and learn how to contribute to a stronger community.
In the midst of this crisis, they have stepped up to help fill vital needs in our community by launching two core initiatives:
- Childcare for First Responders: The YMCA is supporting essential hospital staff, first responders, and frontline workers, including law enforcement, firefighters, grocery store workers, etc. by providing affordable childcare from 5:30 AM-8 PM every day. Children 6 weeks-12 years old.
- Hunger Relief: In the face of COVID-19 challenges, the YMCA is leveraging its existing programs and partnerships to support 6,000 metro Atlanta families weekly through hunger relief efforts.
